Colombia offers three main categories of visas:

1. Visitor Visa (V)

2. Migrant Visa (M)

• Work visa

• Business owner or partner visa

• Retirement (pensioner) visa

• Marriage or de facto partnership with a Colombian national

• Parent of a Colombian national

• Student, religious, or other authorized residence categories

3. Resident Visa (R)

For foreigners seeking permanent residence, including:

• Time accumulated under a Migrant (M) visa

• Significant investment in Colombia

• Parent of a Colombian national

• Former Colombian nationals
