Puerto Nariño is a small, peaceful village on the Amazon River, car-free and more authentic than Leticia. Most nature-focused experiences are better from here.

Day 1 – Arrival & River Experience

• Boat transfer from Leticia to Puerto Nariño

• Check-in at jungle lodge or eco-hotel

• Boat trip on the Amazon River to look for pink and gray river dolphins

• Visit to Isla San José (Isla de los Loros)

  • Observation of sloths

  • Giant water lilies (Victoria amazonica) when in season

• Sunset on the river

Day 2 – Wildlife & Jungle

• Morning piranha fishing at a known local lake

• Free time or river beach experience

  • Only possible during dry season (approx. July–September) when sandbanks appear

• Afternoon kayaking on calm river channels

• Visit to a nearby indigenous village

  • Learn about daily life and traditional activities

  • Visit to caiman (alligator) conservation area

• Night jungle walk or night boat ride

  • Frogs, insects, night birds, caimans

Day 3 – Nature & Return

• Early morning wildlife observation

• Walk around Puerto Nariño

• Return by boat to Leticia

• Common to see macaws, parrots, monkeys around the lodge
